Supreme Youth Tigers 2

Canvey Island Youth 2

The Tigers travelled over to Canvey to play Canvey Boys in a first for both teams fixture. This game would see the Tigers tested in difficult circumstances to which they really shone through.

From the kick off the Tigers were on the back foot with Canvey winning tackle after tackle and demonstrating more hunger than the Tigers. The game became quite physical and the Tigers seemed to lack the desire to fight back with half hearted challenges and tackles and poor passing that lacked the pace to reach there team mates. The Tigers were hanging in and but for Robert could have quite easily have been completely out of this game. However the Tigers luck run out and with a failure to clear the ball from their box found themselves 1-0 down. Half time came with Canvey Boys seemingly in control of this game.

A half time rocket seemed to inspire the Tigers and they came out for the second half truly motivated and Hungry for the ball. Winning their tackles and clearing their lines the Tigers soon very quickly changed the face of the game. A lovely through ball by Reed that split Canvey's defence found Louie in open space who with only the keeper to beat slotted the ball under the despairing keepers body. 1-1.

The Tigers support were certainly in full voice and this undoubtably contributed to The Tigers second with the ball being played into Archie down the right who got into the box having rode a couple of challenges and slotted the ball into Louie who put the ball into the bottom left hand corner of the goal making it 2-1 to the Tigers. Clinical finishing from Louie just when it was needed. With the clock running down and with minutes to go the Tigers lost there shape and a Canvey striker found himself one on one with Robert who scored making the score and final score 2-2.

This was a fair and deserved result but for Roberts fine goalkeeping Canvey would have run out comfortable winners. It was a no brainier when choosing the man of the match. Congratulations Robert for your man of the match heroics once again.

A brilliant and passionate performance in the second half from the Tigers and under difficult playing conditions these boys really did play with the fearlessness of Tigers.
Thank you again to the parents, grandparents, siblings and unexpected guests for your continued support and Especially for this game!
